A trip to Palampur is always exciting, you never know how the nature plans on treating you; never bad but sometimes astounding. One such fine day I planned a trip to the nearby places worthy of visiting with stunning scenic beauty and serenity, plan was to cover around 3-4 places and spend some quality time there. After much consulting and planning I came up with a list of 3 places which we could easily cover in a day spending 1-2 hrs of quality time at each spot.

Filled with the mountain life vibe first I wanted to go somewhere above the ground in between tall trees having a full view of a valley with a river flowing within and mountains behind making a perfect landscape, So here goes Destination One

Hangloh - Lahla

This place about 20 mins form Hotel and makes a perfect place to chill out with friends/family, this place is popular among the locals as you would notice people of all ages coming there and just sitting in the woods or around the cliff and just talking for hours with no care in the world.

This was the perfect place to start the day off with. As soon as we reached the place the weather became pleasant with mild sunshine, clouds in the sky and the wind started getting cooler it’s all one could ask for a mid-day outing. We got right down to business everyone took out their cameras and started clicking away and the images turned out to be pretty amazing. After our inner photographer got a piece of the action we relaxed sat down there and spent around 2 hrs chatting eating and enjoying the weather. Here are some pictures for you.

After fully enjoying the place we started heading to our second destination

Neugal Khad

Rivers!!! That was on our mind so we started heading to Neugal Khad it’s basically a rivulet where people come and enjoy the cold water, play in it and experience what you would never in a waterpark. As soon as we reached Neugal we wanted to jump right in but as soon as we dipped our feet into the water we decided to sit at a dry spot instead as the water was freezing cold , this spot was rather impressive it was in middle of the river with water on all sides, so we started crossing the river to reach there and an incident happened the rocks beneath were so slippery that my friend slipped on them and lost his slippers which he was carrying in his hands and they started to flow downstream , we had to run and shout asking other people to catch them and about 50 meters downstream we were able to catch those sneaky slippers. After that we were more careful of the water but reached that dry spot in-between the river and I must say it was a perfect place for recreation, we sat there for an hour and it just felt so amazing like this whole place is ours; like god created earth for us to experience this beauty, not the traffic jams we experience every day in the city.

After soaking the nature all in we decided to visit our last destination for the day.

Saurabh Van Vihar

Saurabh Van Vihar is a nature park dedicated to Indian Army martyr Capt. Saurabh Kalia, he is an inspiration for our country. Many of the youngsters like to visit the park because of its serenity and sheer beauty; also it has a boating lake with a little island in the middle. As soon as we entered we felt this calmness in the environment little to no noise, green grass and trees on both sides with a well laid out road to walk on leading to the lake and restaurant. We reached the lake and it had a perfect landscape from the island in the middle of the lake, you can see people boating around you surrounded by trees and the Dhauladhar Range as its background, it looked stunning.
